Fall Favorites

Hello Friends!!!!  I’ve totally missed you guys!  I know, I know…I’ve totally been MIA this month.  Honestly, October is totally kicking my bootie.  I  am currently taking a class towards my dietetics degree, Psychology of Addiction.  I am loving every minute, but it has been a HUGE balancing act between momming and studying.  This is the first class in a long while that I can’t just whip out the assignments and quizzes with little to no studying.  Combine that with a mobile 7-month-old who just wants to spend every minute playing with mom, my to-do list keeps getting longer and longer.  Fortunately, I am not regretting one minute with Goob.  He keeps me busy, that’s for sure.  Anyway…on to my favorite fall trends in fashion.

First up, the mom jeans 2.0.  Everywhere I look, I see high waisted distressed denim.  It has been a popular trend for most of this year, and it looks like it isn’t going anywhere.  Personally, I really like the skinny style, but straight leg and even bootcut and flare are making a comeback.  High waisted jeans are flattering for most all body types.  They hold all of the unwanted rolls on the lower half of the torso.

These Robson High Waisted Silver Jeans are some of my favorite because of the button detailing for the fly.  I have them in a dark denim already, but I am loving this faded black denim as well.  They come in 3 different inseams, which is perfect for everyone and run true to size.  I usually take them in a 28 or size 6.  They are 2% elastane (spandex) so they have some stretch which is also great for slimming down any unwanted areas.

This next pair is Lucky Brand Bridgette High Rise Skinny Jeans.  I found these at Nordstrom Rack for only $36.97.  I don’t have these at the moment, but they are definitely on my wish list.  I love the dark wash, and the ankle seam on the back of the jeans has distressing which is an interesting detail that isn’t expected when looking straight on.  The inseam is 27″ and the leg opening is 10″.  There is 1% elastane (spandex), so they do have a little stretch to them.

Joe’s Jeans are becoming quite a popular brand and are comparable in quality to 7 For All Mankind and Hudson.  This particular pair is more of a straight leg style instead of a skinny jean.  These Charlie High Waisted Distressed Ankle Jeans are currently $47.98 at Nordstrom Rack, compared to most other retailers where they are going for around $170 a pair.  Don’t you just love Nordstrom Rack?!  They have a 28″ inseam and a 10″ rise with a 1% elastane stretch.

Everyone seems to have these 721 Levi’s, large knee openings and all.  They come in 4 different inseams, over 20 different washes, and not all have distressing.  There are just some situations that distressed jeans are not appropriate.  These too have 1% elastane stretch.

The wedge bootie is going strong from last spring.  Now a lot of brands are coming out with winter versions.  From all-weather and rain booties to velvet wedge sneakers…this style is the epitome of casual chic.

This beautiful navy suede Linea Paola Felicia Wedge Bootie just dropped in price at Nordstrom.  Currently, they are going for $89.90, comes in 2 colors, this navy, and black/dark gray print.  They have an inner ankle zipper to make the ease of on and off.

The Kensie Higgins Suede Wedge Bootie is brand new to Nordstrom and is already super popular.  They are going for $88.95 and also come with an ankle zipper on the back to make on and off easy.  They come in this beautiful walnut suede as well as a black leather.

Sorel is a very popular winter shoe brand.  Their products may be on the expensive side, but they know how to make a beautiful and sturdy shoe.  This particular pair, the Sorel Women’s 1964 Premium Wedge Boot, is rubber soled with waterproof leather upper.  Their price runs from the low $100s all the way to $229.00 on Amazon.

Another pair of Sorel booties, these are the Sorel Women’s Joanie Sweater Boot.  They too have a rubber sole, great for traction in slippery conditions as well as the waterproof upper leather detailing.  They have added a sweater material inside to help combat cold.  Again these run on the expensive side topping out at $229.95 on Amazon.

Lastly, here is the Ugg Alasdair Waterproof Bootie.  They are a little bit of a cheaper version of the Sorel Booties, and currently on sale at most stores for around $159.00.  I just ordered some for myself since I will most likely be spending some time this winter in the snow.  These too have a waterproof leather and suede upper and a rubber sole.  They also have sheep fur lining for added comfort and warmth.

As the weather cools, I love snuggling up in cozy clothes.  I recently learned that there is a difference between loungewear and sleepwear.  While my sleepwear is 99% cozy and completely not sexy, I like the idea of having separate cozy clothes for sleeping and then just hanging out.

Both this top and bottom are an outfit.  While they are separates, they look so cute together.  I recently ordered both the top and the bottom and am semi-impatiently waiting for them to arrive.  They are from Figleaves, an England based company…which means their sizing is not the same as the US.  I normally wear a size 6, but I wanted these to be extra comfy and not restrictive at all, so I sized up.  In the UK a 6 is actually a 10.  So since I sized up I took a UK 12.  I will keep y’all posted as to whether sizing up was a smart move.

I am dying for this Laundry Room Airplane Mode top, unfortunately, I am too cheap to pay full price for it.  At $78 I cannot currently justify it.  But I definitely have it on my watchlist for when it does drop in price…as long as it doesn’t sell out first.  It comes in colors, this light grey, and a dark charcoal grey.

I love the stripes on these ‘Lazy Morning’ Lounge Pants from Nordstrom.  They are 100% cotton and according to the reviews, run true to size.  They are definitely on my wishlist.

A loungewear brand I have loved for years is Alternative Apparel.  I usually find them on Amazon and a great price.  Their items usually run true size and a quite durable.  This sporty sweatshirt is just under $12- $48 depending on the size and color.  This top comes in 5 different colors, although I am loving this navy blue with white and red detailing.

The star pattern on this Alternative Apparel sweatshirt it so fun.  This top is exactly the same style and make of the sporty sweatshirt, just a different pattern.  It only comes in this color combination, and starts out at $37 depending on the size on Amazon.

Yet another stylish Alternative Apparel sweatshirt top.  This one comes in a variety of colors and sizes and starts out at just under $15 on Amazon.  I am loving this oatmeal cream color.

Another inexpensive loungewear brand is Soffe.  I wore this brand like crazy in my high school sporting days.  It is still something I love to wear around the house.  These are the Rugby Fleece pants and come in a wide variety of collegiate colors.  They are currently going for $10.94 on Amazon.

Plaid print is everywhere this season, and not just on flannel shirts.  Plaid has come a long way since the Al Borland days.  There are several ways to wear this trend as well.

I love the dimensions of the lines on this BP. Plaid Shirt, and the color combination is beautiful.  The fabric is lightweight and soft.  It runs large so size down.  Also, this particular print is on sale for $29.40 on Nordstrom’s website.

Now, this is a true plaid flannel shirt from Lilicherry on Amazon.  It’s heavy in fabric weight but still soft.  It also comes in 5 different colors and is under $20 with prime shipping.

Plaid print on blazers and coats are very popular at the moment as well. This BB Dakota You Oughta Know Faux Fur Hood Coat from Zappos is absolutely adorable.  The neutral tones work so well for the shape of this jacket.  Also, the high low bottom seam is very flattering on just about all body types.  For $130 and free shipping it would be the perfect staple for a fall/winter wardrobe.

Blazers are a great way to add layering without adding a lot of bulk, and the way this blazer hits right in the middle of the hips gives the illusion of a long torso without cutting the legs at an awkward spot.  The KUT from the Kloth Rafaella Plaid Blazer from Nordstrom would jazz up a casual outfit and add texture and design to a business outfit.

Wearing plaid isn’t just for shirts and jackets.  This 14th & Union Plaid Ponte Skirt from Nordstroms Rack is a perfect example of that.  This beautiful pencil skirt comes in this light grey and a black plaid.  And the best part is it is only $21.97.

Now if you really want to treat yourself, or ask for something luxury for Christmas, and Burberry scarf is a perfect place to start.  This Giant Check Print Wool & Silk Scarf from Burberry is a beautiful holiday red.  It is lightweight made from a combination of wool and silk.  Because of this combination, this scarf would easily transition any wardrobe from the fall, through winter and even into spring.  Burberry scarfs are timeless and never go out of style.  It comes in 4 color combinations and is currently retailing at Nordstrom for $390.

Last seasonal trend I am loving is the faux shearling bomber jackets.  While I would love to own an Ance Studios version, $2700 for that particular jacket is definitely not in my budget.

The Avec Les Filles Oversized Faux Shearling Moto Jacket is a perfect dupe for the Acne Studios jacket.  It comes in this beautiful cognac color as well as black.  At Bloomingdales, it is currently going for $169.

Zara was one of the first designers to make an affordable version of the Acne Studio jacket.  In the years past they have only had the jacket in solid colors, but this year they came out with the two-toned style and light gold toned metal hardware and I am dying over it.  This Constrasting Biker Jacket is selling for $129 at Zara at the moment.

This black version of the Zara Biker Jacket has been the tried and true look and they just keep bringing it back every fall season.  I have this particular jacket and absolutely love it.

Hollister has a little bit more of an affordable version of the Zara Biker Jacket coming in at $79.95.  While it has less detailing than the Zara version, it still has a beautiful silhouette.  It does run small so size up if you want the slouchy look.

What are some of your favorite trends this season?  Do you have any of these items already?  If you do, how are you enjoying them?  Was there anything on this list that caught your eye?  Hope y’all are having an amazing autumn and enjoying plenty of cooler weather.
