Ingredients
  

Donut Batter

  • 3 cups all-puprose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 2 tsp strawberry extract
  • ½ tsp almond extract can substitue for vanilla
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter melted
  • ¾ cup greek yogurt low fat vanilla
  • cup milk can substitue for almond milk
  • 3 large eggs

Icing

  • 1 cup frozen straberries thawed
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • tsp salt
  • 2 tsp strawberry extract

Instructions
 

Donuts

  • In one large bowl, combine flour, granulated sugar, and baking powder. Whisk to combine, set aside.
  • In another bowl, combine yogurt, milk, eggs, extracts, and melted butter. Whisk to combine.
  • Add wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and whisk with an electric mixer until the ingredients are combined. Don't over mix.
  • Spoon the batter into a plastic bag or a piping bag and pipe inot a greased donut pan. Bake at 325°F for 12-14 minutes or until the tops are slightly brown. Let cool completely before icing.

Icing

  • Blend the defrosted strawberries and then strain the seeds out.
  • Add in the salt, extract, and 1 cup of powdered sugar at a time. Whisk in between each addition of sugar. Keep adding powdered sugar until the icing is a thick yet liquid consistency.
  • Once completely combined, dip the tops of each donut into the icing and then place on a cooling rack to allow any extra icing to drop below.
  • Top with desired sprinkles and serve immediately, or store in an airtight container for up to a week.
