- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 1/2 large onion diced
- 1/2 cup dill pickles diced
- 1/2 cup Thousand Island Dressing
- 1/2 cup sharp cheddar cheese shredded
- 6-8 hamburger buns
- shredded romaine lettuce
- salt and pepper
In the frying pan, drizzle oil in the bottom and add in the diced onion. Cook on medium heat until the onion begins to lightly brown. Add in the ground beef and lightly season with salt and pepper. Stir until the beef is completely browned. Add the pickles into the onion/beef mixture and let cook for 3-5 minutes allowing the pickles to warm. Take off of the heat and add in the Thousand Island dressing and cheese. Stir to combine.
To plate, place open hamburger bun on a plate and scoop 1 cup of sloppy joe mixture onto the bottom of the open-faced bun. Add some shredded romaine lettuce and place the bun's top over the shredded lettuce.
