Spring ’18 Fashion Picks
Every spring I find myself purchasing a new pair of Arizona Birkenstocks. I wear them so often throughout the spring/summer/fall that they are pretty beaten and dead come winter. My pick for this spring are these Arizonas in the Metallic Anthracite Leather. Arizonas also run about 1-1.5 large on me. I usually wear a 7.5 and I size down to the 6-6.5 in Birkenstocks.
Another shoe pick for this season is these Marc Fisher Annie Perforated Espadrille Platform Wedge in the color Sweet Nude Suede. They run true to size and are extremely comfortable. They look high and like they will kill your feet, but I’ve worn my pair several times for long periods of time and never had foot/ankle pain. I receive a ton of compliments every time I wear them. I love to pair them with a floral dress or some cropped jeans and a chiffon flowy top.
I am LOVING this Boyfriend Jersey Jacket from Topshop. It is lightweight and looks businessy, but also very casual. I have it in a size 6. This is going to be a staple in my wardrobe through the end of the year. The oatmeal color is the perfect neutral to pair with a graphic tee, like in the photo, or with a dress or a flowy tank.
My absolute favorite brand of jeans is Hudson Jeans. They are amazing for mom-bods, but don’t look like mom jeans. I am loving this pair of Krista Raw Hem Ankle Super Skinny Jean. I love jeans like this because I can get away with wearing them with the hem all the way down, but then I can also roll the hem a few times to make them looked cropped. They go amazingly with flat sandals, booties, wedges and they are skinny so they can even be tucked into Uggs or knee high boots easily. This pair is definitely on my wish list for spring.
As a mom, my closet is at least half filled with comfortable tees. This Madwell Whisper Cotton Tee is no different. I love how soft and comfortable it is. It also launders wonderfully, since spit up is 100% part of my current lifestyle right now. It runs true to size, I usually wear a medium because I like mine a tiny bit slouchy.
High low shirts/blouses are some of my favorite as well. They look cute tucked in the front or untucked. They can be dressed up with a cute skirt or dressed down with jeans or shorts. I also love how flowy they usually are so they don’t trap heat against your body. This one from Vince Camuto is simple, but super cute.
I’m a pretty simple gal when it comes to dresses, I usually only wear dresses to church on Sunday. And with chasing 4 boys around for 3 hours I like to feel comfortable, yet stylish. This dress from Downeast Basics is a favorite. The Haute Horizon Dress is tee type material and stretches, but doesn’t hug all of the places you don’t want anyone noticing.
When the weather starts warming up, I like to wear warmer tones when it comes to my makeup. I’ve been loving this Just Peachy Palette by Too Faced. It’s super blendable and pigmented.
Having bronzed skin is also a must once the weather warms up. My new favorite is this Tom Ford bronzer in Terra. It looks dark, but it really is not. It also is easily buildable and great for bronzing or contouring.
